A Fun DIY Gift Idea!
Get crafty this holiday season and give the gift of a beautiful personalized lamp shade! Although wallpaper is designed to be used on the wall, there are actually many other uses for this stylish decorating option. From staircases to bookshelves, coffee tables and head boards, wallpaper can easily be used to refurbish and decorate a variety of furniture and home décor items.
Today we show you how to design a stunning lamp shade to either keep for yourself (we won’t tell!) or give as the perfect gift. Simply follow the steps below, while using the how-to video above as your guide. And if you still have questions, make sure to add them to the comment field and we will answer them as soon as we can!
Project Tools:
1. X-Acto Knife
2. Measuring Tape
3. Rubber Cement Paste
4. Wallpaper Roll/Scraps
5. Lamp Shade
Step 1: Test out your wallpaper in the glow of a light to make sure you like how the design is displayed with the added illumination
Step 2: Measure the height and circumference of your shade
Step 3: Cut a piece of wallpaper to your shades dimensions
Step 4: Apply the rubber cement to the wallpaper and/or shade base, smooth into place
Helpful Tip: For non-drum shades, slice your wallpaper into strips for easier application
